Triple National Win for Safety Leadership: Ben Kirkbride and Gamuda Australia

It’s been an extraordinary year for safety leadership — and we couldn’t be prouder to celebrate three national awards recognising the outstanding work of Ben Kirkbride and Gamuda Australia.

Across both the Australian Institute of Health & Safety (AIHS) and the NSCA Foundation awards, Ben and Gamuda were honoured for leadership, innovation, and measurable safety impact:

  • WHS Leader of the Year – AIHS

  • Best Individual WHS Achievement – NSCA Foundation

  • Best WHS Training & Development – Gamuda Australia’s Tunnelling and Infrastructure Academy (TIA)

That’s right — finalist in three, winner of all three.

These awards celebrate the same thing we’ve witnessed first-hand — leadership that turns safety from a process into a shared purpose. Ben’s work, alongside the Gamuda team, has transformed how safety is led, measured, and experienced across complex tunnelling and infrastructure projects.

At Red Insight, we’ve been proud to support Ben and the Gamuda Australia team in sharing their story. Through this partnership, we’ve helped showcase the people, programs, and culture driving their success — ensuring the recognition matched the impact.

Ben has since moved on to new opportunities, but his influence continues through the programs, systems, and safety culture he helped build. It’s a legacy now recognised at the highest level of the industry.

Congratulations, Ben and Gamuda — three well-earned wins and a defining moment for safety leadership in Australia.
