Young WHS Leader of the Year 2023

What an incredible honour it is to be named the Young WHS Leader of the Year 2023! This award holds a profound significance for me as it coincides with the 5th anniversary of my best friend’s passing due to a workplace incident. It was this tragedy that fuelled my determination to pursue a career in the industry and make a positive impact. Being a part of such a passionate community, where people share the same drive, is truly rewarding, and the Hunter Safety Awards serve as a pinnacle for recognising outstanding achievements.

At the age of 25, I feel privileged to contribute to significant changes within the industry and for our clients. The competition at the 2023 Hunter Safety Awards was fierce, with numerous exceptional companies vying for recognition across various categories. It was a remarkable experience to see not only my own achievements acknowledged but also the achievements of Red Insight and our clients. These achievements are a testament to the high standards upheld by Red Insight. We take immense pride in being an award-winning company, and it’s equally fulfilling to see our clients recognised for their excellence. Read Liam’s Newcastle Heralds award feature here.

Our Clients Win Big

On the back of our client Fenech Demolition winning the “WHS Business of the Year 2022”, Enviroculture Maintenance Services has received the coveted honour in 2023. Enviroculture received the prestigious “Best WHS Improvement” award, ultimately culminating in them being named “WHS Business of the Year 2023.” This was a particular highlight for me as I’ve worked very closely with Enviroculture with their new Intergrated Management System as well as improving their safety culture. Collaborating with clients who are dedicated to enhancing the safety of their operations is truly humbling for me. It exemplifies the inherent benefits of working in this industry.

Moving forward, my goals remain steadfast; to continuously strive to become the best HSEQ Specialist I can be, to grow and learn within the Red Insight family, and to change the perception of workplace health and safety for the better. I look forward to reconnecting with familiar faces at next year’s event and wish all future entrants the very best.
